Why an Oilfield Company Built a Plant-Based Cleaner

For three decades, Katch Kan has built equipment that keeps drilling fluid off the ground. Containment systems. Splash guards. Recovery tanks. If you have worked a rig in Alberta, you have probably stood next to something we made.

That work taught us one thing above all: the hardest part of a mess is never the mess. It is what you use to clean it up. For years the industry answer was solvent — aggressive, effective, and something you did not want anywhere near your skin, your water table, or your crew.

So we started formulating our own. Plant-derived surfactants instead of petroleum solvents. Something a hand could touch. Something that could go down a drain without a hazmat conversation.

It worked on the rig. Then it started disappearing off the shop shelves — crews taking it home for garage floors, barbecue grates, laundry that smelled like a shift.

That is Kan Klean. Same formula philosophy, sized for a house instead of a lease road. Plant-based, non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for septic and greywater systems, because out here most of us are on one.

Rig-tough. Earth-kind. It was never a slogan. It was the spec sheet.
